Hit Music: The Legacy of PET SHOP BOYS

Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe first met in an electronics shop in August 1981; a shared love of dance music led them to form PET SHOP BOYS, named after friends who worked in an Ealing pet retailer while also sounding like an English rap group. Bridging the gap between Synth Britannia and Acid House via HI-NRG and Italo disco, PET SHOP BOYS first found success with ‘West End Girls’.
